Williams Indiana Jones pinball repair (#010)

Working on a 1993 Williams Indy Jones pinball today. The path of adventure (PoA) was not working, would not rotate right or left. After checking voltages, without finding any problems, decided to examine the PoA driver board (mounted under the the playfield.) Found the 100mfd capacitor at C3 was leaking, and destroyed a copper trace on the board. Replaced the capacitor and fixed the broken trace, and now the PoA was working great!

Bally Eight Ball pinball repair (#009)

Working today in Green Valley on the classic 1978 Bally Eight Ball machine. Game turns on, but the computer MPU board will not boot. Checked the diagnostic LED and only a flicker plus two flashes. This means the 5101 RAM chip (or its socket) have failed. Repaired that and found the slingshot coil was fried, as was its driving TIP transistor. Repaired that and re-rubbered and cleaned the playfield. Game was now playing as it should!

1964 Cadillac Ball Bowler EM repair (#008)

Received a call from a gentlemen in Vegas with a Chicago Coin 1964 Cadillac ball bowler. The game was not set up, and it’s working status unknown. Since this is a big job, it really does require two people to set up a ball bowler. The pieces are very heavy, two people are needed. No problem though! Got the game all set up, and of course, it did not work. But no problem, we’ve had quite a lot of ball bowler repair experience, so of course we got the game working!

Gottlieb Big Indian EM pinball repair (#007)

Received a call from a gentlemen in Henderson to fix a Gottlieb Big Indian EM pinball machine. The game was completely restored about 10 years ago, but had stopped working recently. The restoration work was well done (cabinet completely repainted). But with any 50 year old thing, it occasionally will need some repair work.

Stern Avengers pinball repair (#006)

A Las Vegas gentlemen bought a brand new Stern Avengers Infinity Quest Premium pinball and within two days had and issue with one of the flippers… a very strange squealing noise! He sent us a video and it was disturbingly loud, so can completely understand his concern (especially since the game was only two days old, and manufactured only 6 weeks again in April 2022!)

Williams Travel Time EM pinball repair (#005)

Received a call from a gentlemen in Vegas with a 1972 Williams Travel Time EM pinball machine. They had recently moved it across town, and the movers dropped the game off the truck. This resulted in the backbox wood cracking open, and the score glass backglass breaking into several large pieces. We were asked to fix the wood and glass problems, and repair the game to fully functional state, in the owner’s garage.

Williams Dirty Harry pinball repair (#004)

Went to a gentlemen’s house in Las Vegas with a Dirty Harry pinball. The problem was, the kicker that loads the gun on the playfield would not stop kicking (with or without a ball.) And when it did stop, game play ended if the playfield gun was to be loaded, like the game did not know the ball was loaded into the kicker.

Bally Playboy 1979 pinball repair (#003)

Working on a Bally Playboy pinball from 1979 today. The problem was interesting… game would start up, play the intro sound, but no ball delivered to the shooter lane. None of the coils worked either.

Gottlieb Cleopatra pinball repair (#002)

Working on a 1979 Gottlieb Cleopatra pinball today (solid state system1.) The owner wanted new drop targets installed. Since the targets are right dead center of the playfield, the originals were pretty beat up (and one was broken.) So indeed it was time for new targets!

Williams Black Knight pinball repair (#001)

Working on a 1980 Williams Black Knight pinball for a customer in Henderson. Game was just moved, and needed to be set up. Did that and found the game to generally work well (needed a few adjustments, but noting major.) BUT there was one problem, and that was with the score displays. Instead of being “solid on” or “solid off”, they had a weird scrolling effect. See the YouTube video link below for a better view of this (hard to capture in a picture.)
